A very nice experience if you are driving. The petting zoo was good too.The enclosures were well kept and you can surely see the animals and they were active, not just lazily sleeping around.Petting zoo has plenty of options to feed kangaroos and other small animals. Truly a nice place. Plus point for Mt Fuji in the back ground.

Although is hard to get there, but it's worth it. Lots of animals to see in close distance. Must try the Safari bus which can feed lions and bears. Tons of animals to pet at other area. Is easily to spend 4-5 hours in the park. Great Mt. Fuji view too.

Drive thru safari park where animals in different sections are free to roam. You can use your own vehicle or ride the safari bus. Drive slowly because it's only short. There's a petting zoo at the end and restaurants or food stalls.

Excellent place. We can feed the animals like 🦁, 🐻 and 🐫 from vehicle. We can touch most of the animals directly. It's very awesome place. Don't plan any other places visit along with it.

Interesting experience to be able to view lions, tigers and other animals from quite near while being in your car. Tip: if you go there on a sunny early spring day during noon, expect almost all animals to lay in the sun and have a nap. Especially lions and tigers.

Great experience of safari here. Feeding the lion & tiger was great. Really enjoyed. Kids love this safari. Fuji san looks really beautiful in the clear day from here. Self driving would be great to enjoy.

We drove ourselves and it was a wonderful experience! You really do get to see the animals up close. Note that there is also a walking trail separate from the driving route. The website suggested to spend 50 minutes, but we spent almost 2 hours in total for both trails.

Ok very impressive, there are Safari parks across Asia (like Bangkok), and this one too the list, do get to their website and reserve those Safari buses way in advance coz they do run out of seats when u book on spots, we drove our car inside, but wish we could do the bus where to get closer encounter with the cage setting and stuff

Highly recommended. A bit inaccessible if you are travelling by public transport and it seems like the best way to get here is by bus from Gotemba station. You definitely need to take the jungle bus ride as you will get the opportunity to feed animals like bears, lions and camels, as well as see other animals in their "natural" habitat. The petting and feeding section was also plenty of fun as you get to touch and feed exotic animals like hedgehogs, capybaras, meerkats, etc.The biggest downside is that if you took the bus from Gotemba station and intend to return there, you will either need to leave early before closing time or make a mad rush to the bus stop. The park closes at 1500H, but the bus closest to that timing is 1504H. Miss that and you'll need to wait for the 1644H bus -- a one and a half hour wait! If that happens to you, then you'll have to wait at the bus stop, which thankfully is heated and has toilet facilities, but only one cushioned bench.

Everything about this place was awesome.. 2700Â¥ at the gate per adult and you drive through in your own or a safari vehicle. An assorted set of animals awaits you.. 1 star off as the animals are extremely unkempt.. hair falling off, matted together.. They have a petting zoo for Dogs, cats, rabbits, kangaroos, ponies, it's carazy!!Check area map attached

The first Japanese zoo I've been to where the animals don't look like they want to kill themselves. Did the walking tour which is both cheap and quite exciting. It's a bit sad to see soo many people looking at sleeping animals from like 500 meters through a thick barb wire fence though... Maybe it's worth taking a real safari trip after all

A fun way to enjoy with your family. You get a chance to feed some animals including lions. If you are lucky enough you can have a picture of yourself holding a lion cub. Health and a large variety of animals.

Fun park to see wildlife up close from the comforts of your own car. Road to the park can get very crowded especially during Golden Week and Obon holidays. Make sure to give yourself enough time or the activities will be very limited. If you want to play with animals do it before 430pm. This is when they close this kind of attraction. Park also charges for every kind of "attraction" too so be prepared to pay 500 yen here and there. Plus 100 yen to feed the animals.Didn't ride the Jungle bus as we arrived late and already sold out. However seems fun as you get to feed the animals. Extra cost too about 1300 yen per person.

Excellent place to take your family! Driving right beside the animals was so much fun! Our 3 yr old loved being so close to the animals in the car. Then you get out and can walk around the rest of the zoo. Bring lots of 100Â¥ coins because there is a lot of small animals to feed.

Come to the Fuji Safari for a peaceful time with nature and some animals! Transportation to the safari park is not an issue. I rode a direct bus from Gotemba Station (platform 4) to the park grounds for about 500 Yen. Along with a roundtrip bus fare, I paid for a ticket for the entrance to the safari park that totaled to 3,200 Yen. I liked the several options I was given to tour the safari, which included renting a small SUV, walking through a scenic trail, riding a bus or taking your own vehicle. Prices for these options can be found on the safari website and in the park. I didn't like the idea that I had to pay a 500Â¥ fee to walk the safari park in order to see the animals. I figured the park ticket covered it. The walking fee wasn't a show stopper and I had an awesome time.

Interesting concept where you can drive your car into the safari, i have never been to such safari zoos. It's abit slow because you have to queue using your car if it's crowded. I used a rental car and had no issues with it. Mostly all African animals like lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes. You can see Mt Fuji in the background on a clear day and it's worth a photo with the animals. Of course safety is do not open your doors or windows when in the park.

This was an enjoyable experience for everyone in the family. You can just drive through or you can park and go through the walking area as well. Feeding the smaller animals was really fun. I worry that the animals are stressed and don't have adequate room to roam.
